May 2008 Fishing Report
As many of you know it's been a big winter here in Jackson Hole. After last year's lower than normal snowpack and incredibly warm early summer we desperately needed lots of snow but I gotta tell you I am over winter, I'm tired of seeing white everywhere, I don't want to see anymore white stuff falling from the sky...  (more)

2007 Trip to New Zealand with The Fish Guy
How does a vacation that includes amazing scenery, great people, lots of fun and maybe even catching a few big fish sound? Well, if you are the Fish Guy that is heaven on earth, so each winter I go to such a placeÉ New Zealand. I just got back and I have got to tell you there is no better place on this planet. (more)

March Fishing Report
Hello from Jim Brungardt. Winter here in Jackson is a special time of year. I look forward to the change of seasons and cannot wait for the ski season to begin. But I have to be honest, I also love to fish. Therefore, every winter I plan at least a couple of trips south to get away from the cold and try and catch a fish or two. I recently returned from the Patagonia region of Argentina. I have hosted groups to this area in the past, but it had been a few years since my last visit. (more)

February Fishing Report
I've been asked "What do the fish do during the winter?" Well, it's a great question. Most of the fish in Spring Creek, Cody Creek, and Blue Crane Creek are the native Fine Spotted Cutthroat Trout. The vast majority of these fish winter in the main stem of the Snake River. Usually in late October most of the fish leave our spring creeks and migrate back to the Snake River where they spend the winter in the big deep pools found throughout the river near Jackson. (more)

January Fishing Report
Hello from Jim Brungardt Fishing Coordinator here at 3 Creek Ranch. This winter we plan to finish the enhancement work on Cody Creek. This will consist of two projects. The first is to finish the stream enhancement work on the lower portion of Cody Creek. As you know much of Cody Creek was enhanced a couple of years ago, but due to permitting, we were only allowed to enhance about ý mile - leaving the last Å mile unimproved. (more)

Mid September to Late September Fishing Report
Hello from Jim Brungardt TFG (The Fish Guy). I'm asked all the time, "Where should I go fishing? And don't tell me the Snake, the South Fork or the Green." Well, how about the Canyon Stretch of the Teton? Never heard of it? Well, you're not alone...most people haven't. Earlier this summer I felt as part of my job as "The Fish Guy" I needed to check out some new water so I convinced a friend that we should hire a guide and float the Teton. I called the good guys at Worldcast Anglers and asked them to make the arrangements. (more)

Mid August to Late August Fishing Report
Hello from The Fish Guy. As many of you know the fishing the past couple of weeks has been all over the map. We have had some absolutely great days but also some of the slowest days of the season. I know you are going to ask, "Why is the fishing slow?" Well, I have a very good answer...I don't know. But, if I had to make an educated guess (or make something up...you decide) I'd tell you that a combination of lower water levels, warm air temps, sunny days and less consistent hatches usually add up to slower than normal fishing. (more)

Mid July Fishing Update
The Fish Guy here. The fishing continues to be very good. This hot dry weather we've had the past couple of weeks has not had an effect on the fishing. The PMD hatches continue to be very strong on Spring Creek and in between hatches the fish continue to eat basic attractors like Parachute Adams and Parachute Hare's Ears. There are grasshoppers all over the place and it's only a matter of time before the fish start keying in on hoppers and when they do the fishing should be awesome. (more)

Late June Fishing Report
Hello from Jim Brungardt. Sometimes everything goes your way and for the past week or so I can't complain. The fishing has been very good. The PMD hatches are consistantly starting around 11:00 and the dry fly fishing has been pretty good. We have been fishing a variety of PMD dry patterns like Sparkle Duns, Spun Duns and Parachutes but have also had good luck fishing Rusty Spinners. (more)

Spring 2006
Hello from Jim Brungardt TFG.  To be honest I held off putting together the first fishing update until now for a reason...the early season fishing wasn't all that good.  But on Sunday all that changed.  As you may know most of the fish that call the creeks on 3 Creek Ranch home only do so for part of the year.  Sometime in late October most of the fish leave our creeks and head to the Snake River. (more)

2006 Trip to the South Island of New Zealand with The Fish Guy
Ask the Fish Guy his favorite spot on earth and he'll tell you New Zealand. It's a trout fisherman's paradise. Let's see...stunning scenery, ten lifetimes of trout streams to explore (no kidding), BIG fish, and really great people make this winter getaway a homerun. (more)

2006 Trip to the Argentine Patagonia with The Fish Guy
Visiting the Patagonia region of Argentina is on every fly fisherman's short list of dream vacations. The Patagonia region of Argentina is a huge place and there are many options from low budget fish bum packages to 4 star exclusive estancias. In addition there are thousands of miles of trout water to explore. Deciding what part of Patagonia to visit and which outfitter to use can be a difficult decision. Jim's top pick of outfitters are the fellas that own and operate Esquel Outfitters. (more)
