June 2007 Fishing Report

Hello from Jim Brungardt TFG (The Fish Guy). The 3 Creek Ranch fishing season opens June 1. I am very excited about the upcoming season. Over this past winter the guys from Urbani and Associates finished the stream re-habilitation work on lower Cody Creek. New deep pools were built to offer better holding water. Muds and silts were removed and riffles formed that will increase bug life and spawning gravels were exposed. This work looks great and I can't wait to see how many fish feel the same. In 2006, we planted 7,000 willow shoots along Spring, Cody and Blue Crane Creeks. It was our hope that these plantings would stabilize the stream banks and provide additional cover for fish. We have been monitoring these plantings for the past year and this project has been more successful than expected.

About a month ago Roger and I sent out some information to all owners here at 3 Creek Ranch listing the activities we will be offering this coming season. Included were the weekly fishing schedule and general fishing rules and regulations. Please look over this information and if you have questions give me a call or send an email. John Merritt has joined our team here at the Nature Center. John comes to us after graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He will be assisting both Roger and me. His fishing related duties will include helping with reservations and itineraries as well as assisting me with guiding you and your guests. Stop by the Nature Center to meet John when you have the time.

Once the season begins I will be updating the fishing report on a regular basis so keep checking back from time to time. I look forward to spending time with you on the water this summer.
