Steers, Cheers, & 60 Years!

The Teton County Fair, the long-standing staple of summers in Jackson Hole, returns to the fairgrounds for it's 60th year. With a free contact kicking off the week-long celebration, this year's fair is not to be missed. Returning are the always popular main events, such as the Figure 8, Pig Wrestling, and PBR, with a slew of smaller rodeo events throughout the entire summer and fall.

MAIN EVENT SCHEDULE

CHANCEY WILLIAMS AND THE YOUNGER BROTHERS BAND featuring RECKLESS KELLY
WEDNESDAY, JULY 27
6:00PM - 10:00PM (gates open at 5:30PM)
Free concert & no tickets needed.
Grassy Arena (grassy area in the fairgrounds - Land bordered by West Snow King Drive, Flat Creek Drive and West Karns Avenue)

Chancey Williams and The Younger Brothers Band (band website)
The Wyoming native and his Younger Brothers Band, have relentlessly toured the Western United States, developing a rabid fan base not seen from the Cowboy State since Chris LeDoux. In fact, Chancey Williams and LeDoux are the only two people to ride in the Cheyenne Frontier Days™ Rodeo (one of the most famous in the world, the touted Daddy of 'Em All™) and play its main stage as a major entertainer. The band has shared the stage with dozens of artists, including Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Eric Church, Craig Morgan, Rodney Atkins, Brantley Gilbert, Gary Allan, Trace Adkins, Billy Currington, Craig Campbell, Travis Tritt and Thompson Square. But, Williams says, nothing beats the opportunity to have occasionally been direct support for their heroes: legends like LeDoux, Alabama, Merle Haggard and Dwight Yoakam.

Reckless Kelly (band website)
Rocking the stage for the anniversary fair is Austin, Texas based country rock band Reckless Kelly. This grammy nominated group, with lead Will Braun, pays homage to ‘roadhouse country rock’ of the 1970’s and early 80’s.

FRAZIER SHOWS CARNIVAL
JULY 27 - 31

Classic carnival rides for adults and kids hits Jackson starting Wednesday, July 27th. Be sure to test your wills and bring out your inner adrenaline junkie with rides such as Crystal's Glass House, Pharaoh' Fury, Starship 2000, The Zipper, and the Zero Gravity. After having your fill of rides, don't forget to fill your belly with fair favorites like cotton candy, flavored popcorn, and funnel cakes!

PIG WRESTLING
THURSDAY, JULY 28
7:00PM (dgates open at 6:00PM)
Adults: $15; Children (5-13): $10. Tickets Available on Teton County Fair Website
Rodeo Arena
An event for all ages to watch or join! 4 person teams, in categories of Pee-Wee, Junior, Men's Adult-14 and older, Women's Adult-14 and older) compete in a mud pit to try and catch and lift a pig into a padded barrel. It isn't all strength, the team with the best strategic plan and skills will take top price although the success rate tends to very greatly year or year. Whether there are teams that complete the task or not, the event is a huge joy to watch and as they say "The porkers are clearly in their element, the competitors clearly are not."

CBR PROFESSIONAL BULL RIDING
FRIDAY, JULY 29

Teton County fair marks the first sanctioned event in the CBR 2017 Horizon Tour leading to the championships in Cheyenne. Points won at this event go towards the riders overall points ranking. CBR has grown into an organization that works to put the best riders on the best bulls, delivering world-class qualified rides.

RODEO
SATURDAY, JULY 30
8:00PM - 10:00PM (gates open at 7:00PM)

A Western-filled evening featuring cowboys and cowgirls as they competing for traditional honors, prize money, and buckles. Events include: tie-down roping, team roping, saddle bronc and bare-back riding, breakaway roping, ribbon roping, barrel racing, and end with the most looked forward to and biggest event - bull riding! Cowkids will test their ever expanding skills during the mutton bustin' competition!

FIGURE 8 RACES
SUNDAY, JULY 31

The craziest and easily the most entertaining non-animal event at the fair, the Figure 8 Races combines the skills of car racing and crashes of a derby! This unique dirt track motorsport embodies all things western and is a true test of timing and skill to successfully navigate the course. In the figure eight, cars make their way around one circle clockwise and then the second counterclockwise as they cross paths twice on each lap.

Mingling throughout the fairgrounds, Animal Cracker Conspiracy’s Stilt Characters and Giant Puppet Characters create a happy atmosphere and are loved by both the big and small fairgoers.
