3 Creek Ranch Nordic Update & Schedule

 February 5 - February 11, 2018

Nordic Program Schedule

Monday, February 5

Ski Tour:  Two Ocean Lake Tour
Time: 9:00 am – 2:30 pm
Place: Meet at the Nordic Center at 9:00 am.
Difficulty: Moderate
Mileage: R/T 7 miles  Maximum elevation: 7,100’   Elevation gain: 300'

We start this tour from the Pacific Creek Road just north of Moran Junction, and follow the unplowed summer park service road into the trailhead at Two Ocean Lake. We'll then follow a trail south through beautiful timbered stands and open meadows to an overlook above Emma Matilda Lake, then follow the trail east back to our vehicle. Plan on a full day outside in one of my favorite day tours.

Notes on what to bring: Recommended gear for all our Ski Tours:
a small daypack, insulated water bottles, (a small thermos of hot tea or cocoa is always a pleasure to have), lunch, an extra warm layer, hat and gloves, hand warmers. A nice lightweight 'puffy jacket' is highly recommended and a perfect warm layer for our lunch stop.

Monday Morning Skate Ski with Sevi at 3 Creek Ranch
Time: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Location: Meet at the Nordic Center at 10:00 AM

Description: Bring your skate skis and Join Sevi for a casual ski around the 3 Creek Ranch Nordic track. The intent is a casual ski among friends, or a time to meet new friends who share a love for Nordic skiing, maybe pick up a few ski pointers along the way and most importantly have fun sharing the morning among good company.

Tuesday, February 6: Skate Ski Clinic

Beginners Clinic: 9:30 am – 11:30 am
Advanced Clinic: 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Wednesday, February 7: Master's Ski Clinic-Trail Creek

Time: 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM.

Location: Trail Creek Ranch, located at the base of Teton Pass in Wilson. Meet at the 3 Creek Ranch Nordic Center at 10:45 AM, we will carpool.

Description: Skate Ski Clinic. This Master's Clinic is intended for intermediate skill level skiers who desire to improve their skills on more challenging terrain. Trail Creek Nordic Center offers terrain for all skill levels, so our goal is to have you ski on terrain that will push you just a little bit beyond what we have at our track in 3 Creek Ranch. This is a very casual and fun outing, with an emphasis, as always, on the three fundamental cross-country ski skills of 'Push-off, Weight-transfer and Gliding'.

Notes: Please be sure to bring skate ski equipment. Also, don't forget water bottles and dry layers you can change into afterwards. We will start and finish in the small warming hut at Trail Creek. Facilities available. $15.00 trail fee. As always, I am available to answer any questions you might have.
