Nordic Program – Track Update
January 25, 2017
Greetings from the Nordic Center!
Our Nordic track is in world-class condition given all the new snow and the constant efforts of Dan, Brandon, and their trail grooming crew.
We look forward to seeing all of you at the Center before or after your ski, or out on the track. Just this afternoon, I observed 18 Trumpeter Swans circling overhead and landing in the south pond below the Nature Center, a Bald Eagle perched on the cottonwood behind Hole #5, and the tell-tale tracks of a coyote, long-tailed weasel, moose, and what appeared to be where an owl had dove into the soft snow after a vole…3 Creek Ranch in the winter time! I encourage you to come out and take advantage of our beautiful winter activities and landscape.

3 Creek Ranch Nordic Schedule
January 30, 2017 – February 5, 2017
- Monday, January 30
Ski Tour: Cache Creek to Game Creek
Time: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Location: Meet at the Nordic Center at 9:00 AM
Mileage: 9.5 miles R/T
Elevation Gain: 1,435’ Max Elevation: 7,410'
Description: MODERATE; with a short 100 meter side-step uphill section.
This tour begins with a gentle ski about 4 miles up and 1,000’ of elevation gain along the Cache Creek trail. We then have a very short uphill section to the top of the ‘Game-Cache Divide’, followed by a nice gentle 2 mile downhill ski along the trail through stands of aspen and beautiful views into Game Creek. Once at the bottom and in the upper end of Game Creek, we have about 3 miles of gentle downhill skiing to the trailhead.
Notes on what to bring: Recommended gear for all our Monday Ski Tours: a small daypack, insulated water bottles, (a small thermos of hot tea or cocoa is always a pleasure to have), lunch, an extra warm layer, hat and gloves. A nice lightweight ‘down puffy jacket’ is a perfect warm layer for our lunch stop.
Length and destination of the tour is weather dependent.
Notes: We will need to shuttle a vehicle to the Game Creek parking area. Dogs are welcome.

Ski Tour: Morning Skate Ski with Nathan – 3 Creek Ranch
Time: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Place: Meet at the Nordic Center at 10:00 am.
Description: Bring your skate skis and Join Nathan for a casual group ski around the 3 Creek Ranch Nordic track. The intent is a casual ski among friends, or a time to meet new friends who share a love for Nordic skiing, maybe pick up a few ski pointers along the way and most importantly have fun sharing the morning among good company.

** All clinics will be dependent on weather and track conditions. We will be sending daily track conditions and updates via Twitter. All clinics will meet at the Nordic Center.

Pro Shop-Nordic Center
All Nordic events and clinics will meet at the Golf Pro Shop (Nordic Pro Shop in the winter). The warm and cozy Pro Shop is the perfect place to gear up and complete their tours.
Pro Shop Services
Stop in for a wax or full tune-up by the resident experts at the Nordic Pro Shop, in addition to ski storage.
