"Drawing from his vibrant youth, which included being a trumpet player in marching band, a drummer in a nu wave cover band and a guest DJ, Friday nights on WNUR (Chicago), Mark found his passion for the luscious world of vinyl, turntables and nightclubs."

Head for the Hills has a simple but continuing dilemma they can’t seem to resolve. Specialists have been hired to no avail and the predicament persists: how does one describe the multifarious music of Head for the Hills? Among the top contenders are catchy turns of phrase like post-bluegrass, progressive string music, modern acoustic noir, and bluegrass bricolage. Strip away the artful descriptors and you have a forward thinking group of {mostly} acoustic musicians drawing on eclectic influences, tastes and styles. They didn’t grow up immersed in bluegrass music but came to it later in life, with each other. The result is a sound based in bluegrass that reaches into indie rock, jazz, hip hop, world and folk to stitch together fresh songs that bridge the divide between past and future acoustic music.

Torchlight Parades & Fireworks

Torchlight Parade and Fireworks @ Jackson Hole Mountain Resort
Time: 6 PM - 9 PM
Location: Apres Vous
Traditional torchlight parade moves down Apres-Vous and is followed by a celebratory fireworks show. The parade starts at 6 p.m. in Teton Village at the base of Teewinot.

Glow Worm Parade for Kids @ Jackson Hole Mountain Resort
Location: Kids Ranch
Time: 4:45 PM to 6:00 PM
The little ones, 14 and under, can be a part of the long-standing tradition of partaking in the human parade lighting up Teewinot for this year's Glow Worm Parade. Meet at Sweetwater Gondola ready to ski at 4:45pm. Come dressed with skis and boots (no poles please). We'll shoot for a 5:30pm Glowworm Parade.

NYE Fireworks & Torchlight Parade @ Snow King
7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
A torchlight parade and fireworks on New Year’s Eve is a tradition in many ski towns, and Jackson is no exception! Snow King’s annual event began in the mid-1950s (1954 is our best guess) with Snow King General Manager and Owner Neil Rafferty.

The Grand Targhee parade and fireworks display runs from 5 - 8 p.m on December 31st. Come watch or participate in the annual Torchlight Parade and the Kid’s Glowstick Parade with fireworks following.
