17th Annual Cardboard Box Derby (Targhee website for details)
Grand Targhee, Main Plaza
Saturday, April 8
Time: 9:30 AM - 2:30 PM
$10 Entry Fee
When speed doesn't matter, craziness ensues. Grand Targhee's Cardboard Box Derby brings out the most innovative and/or hilarious rigs meant to hold the team members as they race down the hill. Judging is based on originality, costumes, and construction and of course actually completing the race with all team members still on board.
Simples Rules:
- Constructed solely of cardboard, paper, glue, tape, and string.
- Sponsors names must be printed somewhere on the craft.
- Up to 4 adult (or 6 under 18 yrs of age) pilots to maneuver down the ski hill
Prizes will go to the top team in each category:
Best Overall
Best Spirit and Attitude
Best Construction/Engineering
Awards will be on the Main Plaza.

5th Annual Sink or Skim Pond Skimming Contest (Targhee website for details)
Grand Targhee, Main Plaza
Saturday, April 15
Registration: 9:00am-11:30am in Grand Targhee Plaza
Pond Skimming: 12:00pm-2:00pm
Limited to 60 Participants
Entry Fee: $10
Closing day never looked so good. Come out in your best attire and test your skimming (or sinking abilities). Prizes include: $500 Cash, 2017/18 Season Pass, Targhee Fest tickets, Bluegrass Festival tickets and more. Get there early to register, space is limited to 60 contestants!
