3 Creek Ranch Nordic Program
Winter 2016-2017

Greetings everyone,
I want to welcome all of you to our 2016-2017 Winter Outdoor Pursuits/Nordic ski Program.  I am excited to report that we continue to see an increase each year in the number Nordic skiers here at 3 Creek Ranch. The weekly instructional clinics provide a casual and fun way to learn, and the off-site ski tours are a great way to learn about and enjoy our winter environment around the valley.

New this winter season will be our seasonal ski instructor Nathan Hough.  Nathan grew up Nordic skiing in Casper, Wyoming, was a top Wyoming State high school Nordic racer; Nordic raced all four years for the University of Wyoming men’s Nordic team while completing his Wildlife Biology degree; and continued to Nordic race at numerous international and national Nordic competitions. Nathan will assist in all aspects of our program, including teaching, wax/repair and sharing other duties in the Shop. Nathan is simply an all-round nice guy, energetic and enjoys sharing his passion for the outdoors.

All things Nordic will again be based out of the Golf Pro Shop for the upcoming season. This space proved to be a warm and elegant place to meet before and after scheduled clinics, meet friends, enjoy hot refreshments, and simply relax while getting ready for the day on the track. We will be offering full ski wax/repair services and ski storage. Ski waxing will be $12.00/pair.

Nathan and I will be offering instructional ski clinics each week designed for all ability levels in both classic and skate technique. The track will be open to snowshoeing, snow bikes and dogs, and we ask everyone to be considerate and respectful of the guidelines we set forth for these activities. I will also offer an off-site ski ‘tour’ once a week in different locations throughout the valley. We will travel in mostly flat terrain, often making our own trail and enjoying a bit of quiet solitude with friends.

I will continue to send a weekly schedule with specific details and information about the clinics and off-site tours. As always, we will begin trail grooming once we have adequate snow cover, and you will receive a daily report of grooming and trail conditions.
If you are new to Nordic skiing, or are ready to upgrade your equipment, please allow me to help you choose the appropriate skis, boots, poles and clothing to ensure you get the most out of your Nordic skiing experience. Like many Outdoor Pursuits in our valley, the right equipment can and will make all the difference.

We can all appreciate the health benefits and the exhilaration of cross country skiing.  Whether you prefer our groomed skating track and classic ‘lanes’ or to gather a few friends and ski through the meadows along the base of the Tetons, cross country skiing combines the best of outdoor winter recreation, fitness, and good health.  I encourage all of you to come out and experience this truly world-class winter amenity at 3 Creek Ranch.

We are truly excited to share our passion for Nordic skiing with all of you this winter…
All my best to you and yours,
Roger & Nathan
